Late values for fat sheep were easily maintained at to-day’s Matawhero stock sale, the quality in this section of the sale being very high. There was a small entry of store sheep. Prices were as follows: — Beef One good Jersey cow sold at £5 14s. Fat Sheep • There was a'full yarding of great quality ewes. Late values were easily maintained, ewes going to 21s 9d, with several lots above £l. With the exception of those for a few pens, values ranged from Kis 4d, to 21s 9d. Wethers made to 22s Gd, and medium hoggets to 12s 9d. Second grade ewes sold from 12s to 16s Id. Prices: — •Ewes. —Seven, Southdown, 17s 4d; 17, 2ls Gd; 4, Southdown, 19s; 5,16 s 4d; 11, 19s; 17, 20s Gd; 21, 21s 9d; 25. 20s 2d; 23, 19s Gd; 14, 18s 9d; 23, 19s Gd; 4,14 s Id; 7,21 s 9d; 19, 18s Gd; 10, 20s sd; 39, 16s 7d; 21, 20s lOd; G, 19s Sd; 5,18 s; 13, 17s 4d. Wethers. —Eight. 21s 9d; 2,22 s sd; 1, 22s Gd. 1 Hoggets.—Five, medium weight, S.outhdowns, 12s 9d. Second grade ewes.—Five, at 10s Id; 18, 12sStore Sheep There was a small entry of store sheep, the sale being slack in the few big pens, which consisted of hoggets, but the smaller pens sold up to late values. Ewe hoggets made 17s and 18s, best wether hoggets realising lfom 14s 3d to 14s 7cl, with good sort; to 13s. Southdov/n hoggets made 12; fdr big and good, and 8s Id for medium and store sorts. Store ewes made to 8s lOd for a good fresh pen. Ewes and lambs made un to 18s 9d. PricesEwe Hoggets.—Forty-seven, shorn, good skins and condition, fairly good frame, 17s: 52. high country, good size medium condition, ragged wool, 17s; 9} fairly good, woolly, 18s. Wether Hoggets.— Sixty-seven, a fairly good pen (pi, 9s; 320, shorn, well grown, in good condition, (p) 13s; 3G, good frame, full of condition. 14s 7d; 18, shorn, good size and condition, 13s 3d; 54, strong, high country, little wool, 10s 8d; 30, great size full ft.!! condition and bloom, 14s 3d: 9, well-grown, in good order, 12s 3d Sou.hdown Hoggets.—Twanty-sevei.
