Defence of Alsatians Owners of Alsatian dogs in Napier have formed a branch of the National Alsatian Defence League, and at a recent meeting decided to make an emphatic protest against the restrictions imposed upon the breed by the Alsatian Dog Bill. Girl’s Narrow Escape A narrow escape from drowning was experienced by a 10-year-old schoolgirl, Doreen Warren, who was on holiday at Surfdale, near Auckland, when she fell from the wharf fully clothed and wearing gumboots.
