FATALITY IN TUNNEL

CAUGHT BY FALL OF ROCK (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Fatal injuries were suffered by Vernon Englefield Willis, aged 32 years, married, of Taratuhi, who was caught by a fall of papa rock in Amuri tunnel on the South Island main trunk about 5.30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dr. R. L. Withers, Kaikoura, was called to the scene of the accident, but Willis died within a few minutes. A report received yesterday stated that Willis was Ihe only person injured by the fall.
