CENTENNIAL FUNDS
FOE, PATRIOTIC PURPOSES \Y AI E 0 A DECISION (Special to tliu Herald.) WAIROA, this day. The following motions were passed at a recent meeting of the Wairoa Centennial Controlling Committee: — (1) That the several queen carnival committees be asked to continue their activities in the meantime: (2) that the proceeds from all activities carried on from now on be devoted for patriotic purposes, should funds be required for such purposes; ‘(3) that in the event ol funds not being required for patriotic purposes, the proceeds from the activities of the queen carnival committees be devoted to the centennial memorial fund: (4) that a public meeting be held at a later date to decide whether or not funds ar e required for patriotic purposes, and if this is so, to which fund or funds, the moneys shall be allocated.
