WESTFIELD OFFERING CALF VALUES RISE sheep prices steady (Per Press Association.) , AUCKLAND, this day. At the Westfield stock sale yesterday. a smaller beef entry, with a good quality offering, made rates Is per 1001 b. higher all round. Extra choice ox beef made 43s per 1001 b., choice and prime 38s to 425; prime cow and heifer beef 38s to 40s, boner and rough 31s to 345. Extra heavy prime steers made £l7 to £l9 10s, heavy £ls to £l7 ss, medium £l3 10s to £ls 15s, light £ll 15s to £l4 ss, and unfinished £9 to £1! 15s. Extra heavy prime cows and heifers made from £l2 10s to £l4 10s. heavy £lO 18s to £l2 15s. medium £8 10s lo £ll ss, light £7 10s to £8 las. unfinished and rough £5 to £7 15s. Good quality calves were in short supply and made improved rates, while the remainder of an average yarding was steady. Runners , made to £B, heavy vealers £G 15s to £8 12s, medium £s' 10s to £0 10s, light £4 10s to £5 Bs, smaller £3 10s to £4 ss, small 18s to £3 ss. A small pig entry sold at last week’s rates. Choppers made to £4 4s- heavy baconers £4 lo £4 9s, medium £3 14s to £3 18s, light £3 7s In £3 1 js: heavy porkers £2 10s to £3. medium £2 8s to £2 12s, light £1 12s to £2 4s: stores £1 10s to £2 4s: weaners 12s to 245. Baconers averaged Old to G:,'d per lb., and porkers 7d to 7Ad per lb. Prime fat sheep sold steadily in a 'large entry, other sorts easing. Extra heavy prime wethers made 39s to 43s 6d, heavy 36s to 41s Gd, medium 32s to 37s Gc.l, light 26s to 31s Gd. unfinished 20.9 to 24s Gd; extra heavy prime ewes 30s to 35s Gd, heavy 29s 3d to 30s Gd. medium 25s to 295, light 20s 3d to 24s 3d. and unfinished Gs to 18s. A l;\rge lamb entry sold at fully late rates, prime making 19s to 35s Gd, and others 8s to 18s Gd.
