WOMEN AVIATORS
LICENSES IN U.S.A. WASHINGTON, July 24. Women aviators —as old as 01 and as young as 16—arc nearly twice as numerous in the United States as they were 21 years ago. The number holding licenses has jumped from 444 to 761 since February, 1937. In addition, there are 10 girl fliers in Hawaii, Puerto Rico~ and Alaska. The women fly big and little ships. Three are .icensed to Dilot gliders. Most of them fly for fun, records it the civil aeronautics authority how. The 429 holding private 'icenses —which require 25 hours of 010 flying—can take up passengers, Out not for pay. Another 232 have 010 pilot rating, which bars passengers.
