A British liner arrived with 497 passengers, including refugees from the Continent., They- had heard of the outbreak of war while at sea and the Czechs and Slovaks aboard pledged themselves to return to join the Sokol Legion to fight with Britain for the restoration of their independence The spokesman for refugees declared that Germany was going to get a shock before long. “Our legion, he said, “intends to join 6,000,000 Social Democrats and 5,000,000 Communists in Germany and at the first defeat suffered by Germany they will strive to deal a death blow from within. \
