PURCHASE BY BRITAIN
AUSTRALIAN SURPLUS DAIRY PRODUCE AND MEAT WOOL CLIP AND WHEAT (Elec. TM. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Sept. 6, 10 a.m.) CANBERRA, Sept. 5. The British Government has informed the Commonwealth Government that it will buy the. whole Australian surplus of butter, cheese, meat and canned fruit, including pineapples. It is expected that arrangements will also be made for the disposal to Britain of the entire surplus of wool and wheat. The Prime Minister, Mr. G. R. Menzies, announced that the British Government had agreed to purchase the entire Australian- wool clip, in addition to dairying products, but Britain would probably not be able to buy the whole exportable surplus of wheat.
