POVERTY BAY SUB-UNION TI 11RD ANNUAL M EETI NO There was a targe gathering of young people at the third annual neeting of the Poverty Bay SubJnion of Christian Endeavour, held In the Gisborne Baptist School Hall on Sunday afternoon. The Rev. E. W. Batts, the retiring president, was in the chair. During the roll call greetings were received from the local Baptist, Methodist and Church of Christ societies, while Miss E. M. Battlcy conveyed greetings from the Auckland Tabernacle Christian Endeavour Society and Pastor Theodore Edwards presented greetings from the southern district union of South Australia. Members of the Saturday Night Young People’s meeting were present. The election of officers resulted: — President, Pastor L. R. Usmar; vicepresidents, Messrs. L. Markie, H. kalliwell and H. Clark: hon. secretary and treasurer, Miss Rhoda Smith. Following community singing led by Mr. E. Hambly, an able address •vas given by the Rev. F. Thomson, of 3t. Anditew’s Church. The annual tea was held also and afterwards a short talk was given by Miss E. M. Battley. missionary designate to Bolivia.
