REQUISITION POWERS PROCEDURE ISSUED (Per Pr"«s Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Shipping Requisition Emergency Regulations have been issued by the Government. These regulations empower the Minister of Marine, the I-lon. P. Eraser, to requisition . and take up for the service of the navy, army, air force or any other service of the State any British ship or British vessel registered in New Zealand. The Minister further may appoini an officer of the Marine Department to be director of sea transport, and may delegate the powers contained in the regulations to him. The regulations generally set out the proceedings Of requisitioning and chartering any such vessel, for agreement on terms of the charter, or in the absence of such agreement for reaching a decision by arbitration.
