EVENLY MATCHED

WELLINGTON AND H.B. DRAW AFTER FAST GAME (Per Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. A draw, 6 —all, was a fair indication of the- Rugby match played between Wellington and Hawke’s Bay in Napier on Saturday. The teams were evenly matched and though the Bay were outhooked in the scrums their defence was almost impregnable. Dyer at full-back, though given more to do than Taylor, was probably the better of the two. Both sets of forwards worked like tigers and there was little to choose between them. The play generally was fast, bright and open, the ball travelling up and down the field in attack and counterattack without marked territorial advantage to either side. Both sides scored from a penalty and an unconverted try.
