ST. MARY’S SUCCESS B GRADE VICTORIES CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY Defeating two of the foremost teams in the Poverty Bay Basketball Association’s B grade championship series on Saturday, St. Mary’s B 1 put themselves well ahead in the competition for the title. St. Mary’s have a record of 14 successes, having won all their matches in the competition. Second place on the honours list is filled by Mangapapa B, who have sustained only two losses, both defeats being at the hands of St. Mary’s sl. A team from Matawai and another from Kopuawhara visited Gisborne on Saturday to meet Tuis and Woolworths, respectively.
