NEUTRALITY OF ITALY
V BEST CONTRIBUTION CONFINING CONFLICT (Reed. Sept. 4, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 2. Reuter’s correspondent at Rome reports that the Government’s declaration that Italy will not take military initiative, is considered in authoritative Fascist circles as tantamount to a declaration of strict neutrality. It is emphasised that Italy lias used her utmost efforts to reach a peaceful solution. Failing this, if is added, Italy’s best contribution is to help to circumscribe the conflict by not joining in.
