Sept. 2, 2.50 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 1. The Berlin correspondent of the United Press of America reports that the official German news agency, in a statement accused Britain of aggression. The agency stated that the British Government “desires a European war,” and went on to say: “Germany is prepared, if necessary, to wage a 10-year war against Britain.”

A message from Warsaw states that the President of Poland, M. Moscicki, broadcasting in the early morning slated: “Germany has launched an attack against Poland. I appeal in this historic moment to all citizens with the deep conviction that the whole nation, in the defence ol freedom, independence and honour will rally round the supreme commander of the armed forces and give a proper reply to the German aggressor as has so often been clone in the past. The whole nation is conscious of tile just cause and will take up the struggle until the victory is complete.” Many Civilians Killed Reports received in Paris state that German war planes bombed Warsaw and six other Polish towns early this morning. An ambulance arrived with wounded soldiers for the emergency hospital. Poland has formally invoked French aid.
