BRITISH CABINET DIPLOMATIC VISITS NAZI CHARGE D’AFFAIRES AIR RAID WARNINGS PLAN IN FULL OPERATION (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Sept. 2, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Sept. lT Intense activity continued at Whitehall throughout the night. Crowds lingered late to watch the Ministers coming and going. As the first developments, Cabinet met at 11.30 a.m. and the Privy Council at 1 p.m.
The Polish Ambassador arrived at the Foreign Office at 10.40 a.m. Cabinet rose at 1.18 p.m. The Guard at Buckingham Palace was ehanged unceremonially. The German Charge d.’Affaires, Herr Kordt, arrived at the Foreign Office at 10.45 a.m,, and stayed for a quarter of an hour. Sir Thomas Inskip was the next caller. Herr Kordt interviewed the Prime Minister, Mr. Neville Chamberlain, and the Foreign Secretary, Lord Halifax.
London local authorities have been instructed to put the air raid warning system into full operation. Lloyds .are closing down. A censorship of telegrams has been introduced and they will 'be accepted only in English or French. If sent abroad, the use of code or cypher Is forbidden, and the urgent rate has been withdrawn. No inquiry can be made as to the disposal of messages and claims for the return of fees cannot be considered.
Telegrams, including press messages, must bear the name and address of the sender and the recipient. Registered and abbreviated addresses are inadmissible.
