DEATH ON MARIPOSA

WOMAN PASSENGER SON’S SAD WAIT (Pur Press Association'.) AUCKLAND, this day. A woman passenger on the Mariposa died at sea early yesterday morning when the liner was nearing Auckland on her voyage from San Francisco. She was Mrs. E. L. Freeman, who was stated to have boarded the ship at Suva for Auckland. Mrs. Freeman became seriously ill and was given unremitting attention by the ship’s surgeon. It was hoped to take her off the ship immediately on its arrival and send her to the Auckland Hospital, but she became worse during the night and died. Her son was waiting to meet the ship. The United Stales flag was flown at half-mast as the ship arrived.
