* TE KARAKA PLAYERS NEW SEASON’S OFFICERS I ’ STATISTICS FOR 1938-39 (Herald Correspondent.) There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Te Karaka Cricket Club, held this week. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. , P. Hardacre; patron, Mr. B. J. lioldsworth; vicepresidents, Messrs. J. Goodley, J. D. Clark, and M. J. Kyne; secretary, Mr. F. Goodiey; selectors, Messrs. P. Hardacre and H. Sidney; captain, Mr. H. Sidney. A vote of thanks was passed to the ladies who had assisted with afternoon tea last season. Members’ fees were fixed at 10s (id for the coming year.

The following trophies have been donated and the club expressed its appreciation of the donors’ generosity: A cup donated by Messrs. P. Hardacre and J. D. Clark to foster cricket between country teams. It was decided that it be known as the H.C. Cup and be available for competition between country clubs and country schools. A cup donated by Mr. W. McGrannachan for best all round cricketer in the club. A medal donated by Mr. M. J. Kyne for competition in High School cricket. The club hopes 'to commence its season at the end of September. Season’s Statistics Condensed statistics for the 1938-39 season have been prepared by the secretary, and show H. Sidney to have been the best all-rounder, topping both the batting and bowling lists. He made 432 runs during the season with an average of 20 runs per innings, and had a highest score of 6G not out. He also took 59 wickets, and made five catches.
