LINKS IN GOOD ORDER

WAIKOHU GOLF CLUB TWO NEW GREENS (Herald Correspondent.) The Waikohu Golf links are in good order now and are being well patronised in the ideal weather conditions prevailing. The best scores returned in the monthly medal match were R. Gould, 87—21—66; Mrs. C. Gaukrodger, 100 — 25 —81. Two new greens have been brought into use; No. 6. The Glade, 520 yards (5) is very attractive, but the seventh Takurua, 135 yards (3), has come in for many comments and real golfers’ sarcasm. The green is very difficult, being on top of a hillock with a bunker oelow the green, side sod walls to the approach, and gullies all round to catch the slice or hook player. ' 1 Inter-Club Matches On September 3 a team from the Park Club is visiting the home links and players are required to be ready to start at 10 a.m., immediately after morning teal, . A visit from members o,f■the Rakauroa Club is expected on September 10-

The club championships will commence on September 16 with two qualifying rounds, the first to be played at 9 a.m., and the second at 1.30 p.m. Players must be punctual and endeavour to follow in the order of the draw, which will be posted in the pavilion. Ladies will compete for the Bulllvant Trophy in conjunction with the championships
