RUSH OF VOLUNTEERS
RESPONSE IN BRITAIN WARNING TO PUBLIC (British Official Wireless.) llccd. 9 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 30. Recruiting authorities in various parts of .t!he country are finding difficulty in coping with the rush of volunteers. In one hour 350 recruits for antiaircraft batteries were ’ enrolled at Liverpool to-day. The public has been warned that places of entertainment —theatres and cinemas-—would he closed and sports gatherings prohibited on an outbreak of war. Powers have been taken under the recently-issued defence regulations.
