FINALS TO-DAY

OPEN GOLF TOURNEY ALL. SECTIONS CLOSING!* EARLY RESULTS LISTED Finals in the Poverty Bay Golf Club's open championship tournament will be played on the Awapuni links this afternoon, all semi-finals being down for decision this morning. Four outstanding players have reached the finals of the championship, with the Auckland player, H. D. Brinsden, the ruling favourite. It is thought that R. I. Harrison, the Poverty Bay player, will be the other finalist and, should such be the case, Harrison’s solid play might cause an upset. Barry and Horr'ocks, the other semi-finalists, arc also fine players and whatever pair reaches the final should give a good display.
