SCOUT NOTES
TEST WORK IN PROGRESS SEA SCOUTS IMPROVING By “Scouter” The past week has been a busy ■period for test work for members of the town 'troops. Proficiency badge work also has been well to the fore, several tests having been finished last week-end.
Several of the Scouts have completed their King Scout badge by taking the final examination last Saturday for the ambulance badge. Soon most of the usual Scout work will be put aside for the more serious work for the jamboree. ■
To-night a court of honour for the Y.M.'C.A. leaders and seconds will be held in the Scout room at 7 o’clock. A full muster is essential.
The Sea Scouts are doing good work in their own parade room, as well as doing much boat work on the river, and are showing that the lessons are doing a great deal of good in that the boys are becoming proficient in ‘heir boat work.
During the week the Sea Scouts paid a visit to a Lone Scout at Manutuke, and after having a great time out there, witli real country hospitality on the part of the parent of the Scout, they returned to town feeling that something really worth while had been done toward making the country Scout feel that he had plenty of real friends in the troop in town and plenty of help when it was needed.
