DENTAL DECAY

PREVENTIVE MEASURES

CAMPAIGN PROPOSED

(Per Press Association.)

CHRISTCHURCH, last night.

A move is being made by the New Zealand Dental Association to arouse the interest of the Government and the public generally in measures and care to combat dental decay, with particular emphasis on prevention of decay through correct dietetic and living habits in young children under school age. A meeting of members of the association was held last week, and was addressed by Professor J. R. Burt, president of the association, and associate professor of dentistry at the University of Otago. It is understood a committee has been set up to further the matter, den tists seeing an opportunity to combine a campaign for education in the care of teeth and the prevention of decay with the operations of the social security scheme in conjunction with civic co-operation.
