AUCKLAND WEDDING CLARKSON—MAKC! ILL (Herald Correspondent.) Bowls of pink camellias were chosen for the decoration of St. David's Church, Khyber Pass, Auckland. last Wednesday, when Deborah Elizabeth, only daughter of Mr. A. Makgil] and the late Mrs. Makgill, Hillsborough, was married to John Lawrence, son of Mrs. F. Clarkson and the late Mr. Clarkson, Pukekohe. , Artistically arranged in deep bowls and also adorning the ends of the guests pews, the softly shaded blooms harmonised effectively with the note of colour in the (rocking of the bridal party. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a princess gown of magnolia tafTeta over pink, which gave a beautiful luminous pearl effect. The closely-fitting frock was made with a very full and slightly trained skirt, the centre front panel of which finished in a point at the heart-shaped neckline with the bodice shirred on either side. The long sleeves were full at the shoulders, but fitted closely below the elbow. A lovely veil of Brussels lace, an old family possession was worn with a coronet of orange blossom. A shower bouquet of pale pink sweet
peas completed 'the bride’s picturesque toilette, her only ornament being a collar of pearls, a family heirloom. Frock of Blush Pink Taffeta A pretty frock of blush pink taffeta was worn by the bridesmaid, Miss Philippa Makgill, cousin of the bride. Fashioned on princess lines it had short full sleeves and was trimmed with buttons the length of the front panel. A dainty posy of cyclamen was in, her hair, and she carried a bouquet of the same blooms. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. E. S. Clark, Howick, and the marriage service was conducted by Dr. Gillie; Messrs. D. and T. Makgill and K. Clarkson acted as ushers in the church. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the' home of the bride’s cousin, Mrs. E. P. Stephenson, Epsom, where the reception rooms were arranged with attractive decorations of irises and japonica. Mrs. T. S. Makgill, aunt of the bride, wore a costume of Air Force blue with pin-stripes and a hat to tone. Mrs. E. P. Stephenson, cousin of the bride, chose a navy ensemble with touches of white. Mrs. F. Clarkson, mother of the bridegroom was wearing a navy coat over a floral frock, and a matching navy hat. A tailored costume in grey with a black hat was worn .by Miss M/ Clarkson, sister of the bridegroom. Other relatives of the bridal party present included Mr. and Mrs. A. I Clarkson (Auckland, Mr. and Mrs. R.
