In the final ol the men’s tennis singles, at the Newport tournament Cooke beat McNeil, B—lo,8 —10, 6 —4, 7 —5, 6-3. As a result of the victory Cooke probably will now be included in the American Davis Cup team.
DAVIS CUP DOUBLES
(Reed. Aug. 26. noon) NEW YORK, Aug. 26. The playing of the doubles in the Davis .Cun inter-zone contest between Australia and Yugoslavia has been postponed until to-morrow on account of rain.
