OBITUARY
MR. ERNEST BROCKLEBANK
FORMER GTSBOBNEITE Mr. Ernest Brocklebank, superintendent of the Stratford Volunteer Fire Brigade, died at the Stratford Hospital last week after a short illness following a stroke a week ago. He had been a resident of Stratford .for just over 30 years, a member of the brigade for 28 years and superintendent for the past five years. Born and educated in Gisborne, Mr. Brocklebank turned to sheep farming after leaving school. Together with his brother, Mr % W. Brocklebank, sen., he went to Stratford in 1909. Thev took a section in the Makahu district, but continued to reside in Stratford where they were in business.
Mr. Brocklebank was at the war for the four years 1910-19 inclusive and after his return was in business in Stratford.
He leaves Mrs. Brocklebank and two brothers, Mr. William Brocklebank, Stratford, and Mr. George Brocklebank, Gisborne.
