Wrestling Tournament Postponed

In order to assist in securing a visit to Gisborne of the Fuller stage show, “Funz-A-SPoppin,” the Gisborne Wrestling Association has relinquished the booking-of the Opera House on Saturday next. The association had been promised a match between Earl IMcCready and (Paul Jones for that night, and it is hoped that these principals can be induced, to make their Gisborne trip on September 9, when the association will carry on with its tournament plans. The change also affects an arrangement with Hastings amateurs to visit Gisborne. This team will not be able to make the trip on September 9, as that is the date of the amateur championship finals in Hawke’s Bay. but arrangements are being made to bring them for the fixture on September 30, when the Gisborne Returned Soldiers’ Association, in conjunction with the wrestling association, will sponsor a tournament in aid of the queen carnival funds.
