CRUTCHINGS AT DUNEDIN WINTER WOOL SALE ADVANCE FOR FLEECE RANGE OF VALUES (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. There was a total offering of 3170 bales at the winter wool sale held yesterday. There was a good attendance of overseas buyers, local mill representatives and iellmongers and, considering the grave international situation, competition exceeded expectations. It was noticeable that fine crutchings were slow selling and passings ior these grades were frequent. The quality and condition of tne crutchings under offer were not up to the standard of last year’s due to the extreme weather conditions experienced. Crutchings and skirtings comprised the bulk of the catalogue, with some good average lines ol ueece.

As compared with northern sales, prices were generally easier for crutchings. An extra super line oi four bales of crossbred crutchings, suitable for the American trade, made ll}d. Any fleece wool which came forward met with excellent competition, and values were Id to id better than the April rates. The official range of prices is as follows:
