(.Reed. August 2G, 1.50 p.m.) LONDON. August 25.

Territorials are leaving the London depots with full war equipment in which the new anti-aircraft guns are prominent.

Telephones are choked. The heaviest delays occur on the long-distance lines, while it is increasingly difficult io raise the Continent. Many big London buildings, including the Mansion House, have been protected by sandbags. Hundreds of members of the Women's Auxiliary Army have been called up. The Peninsula and Oriental Company announces that the liner Strathmore, at present enroute to Bermuda, has been recalled.

It is feared in London that the departure of British journalists from Berlin may result in a serious falling off in news. There have been ominous silences to-day. due to congestion of the lines.

It. is officially denied, however, that telephone communication has ceased with .Berlin. It is said to have only been interrupted.
