Fish Killed With Dynamite

Dynamite was used to take fish from the Orangipuku River, near Inchbonnie, on the West Coast. A ranger of the Grey District Acclimatisation Society. Mr. (R. Roigard, and a party, discovered a fuse about a foot long, with an exploded detonator attached in a water hole where fish res't before entering a wire-netting trap used by the society to catch, fish during the spawning season. They found also two dead fish, which examination proved to have 'been dynamited. The matter is being investigated by the police,
