TRAM TRACK RATING
ISSUE FOR GOVERNMENT AUCKLAND BILL OPPOSED (Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. A recommendation made by the Local Bills Committee of general importance was reported to the House of Representatives yesterday, when the Auckland Transport Board Rating Amendment bill was returned with a recommendation that it be nett allowed to proceed'.
The committee stated that this bill, which seeks to secure exemption from local rating of the board’s tramway tracks, involves a question of policy affecting rating 'on general utilities and is a matter for the consideration of the Government.
