STERLING FUNDS CONTROL

MOVE FOR CONFERENCE

N.Z. BUSINESS FIRMS

(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day

A national conference representative of all commercial and financial interests is being urged by the Bureau of Importers, Auckland, to make representations to the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, immediately after his return to New Zealand next month regarding the serious position which has developed as a result of Government control of the Dominion s sterling exchange funds. “The bureau has taken the initiative as the difficulties to which trade has been subjected are now so embarrassing that the position must be clarified at the earliest possible moment. We suggest that the conference be held at Wellington.” said Mr W. A. Boucher, president of the bureau.
