Foreign bonds slumped as much as five points. Nine United States Government issues reached new low levels. Selling is 'heavy 'in Australian. Belgian and Polish issues, which are ofl' one to three points 1 .

The New York banks, have heard that unless there is ai sudden improvement the London foreign exchange market wilL close to-morrow or restrict business to no'minal proportions.

Sterling futures sank to cents below the spot rate which the equalisation account held firm.

Selling waves swept Montreal and Toronto exchanges. Wheat closed 1J cents higher at Winnipeg.
