Political Prejudice

Sir,—Of all the chambers of commerce in New Zealand, the Gisborne chamber has felt called on to criticise the Government’s scheme to establish ironworks at Onekaka. Ido not know what special qualifications that body has to entitle it to interfere with a proposed State enterprise, except that it is consistently prejudiced against the Labour Government.

I understand an expert has recently reported that the quality of iron at Onekaka is 50 per cent, which is higher than in some iron-producing countries, and that there ds sufficient iron to last for many years. The Government has experts to advise it in the matter. R. T. KOHERE.
