SURVEY FLIGHT PLANNED
AUCKLAND TO SUVA EMPIRE FLYING-BOAT (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. It is intended to carry out an air survey ol the route between Auckland and Suva, Fiji, early in September, according to another announcement by the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, who said that the first of the two proposed flights to Suva would lie undertaken by the modified Empire flying-boat Aotearoa between September 7 and 10.
“This will be the first of two survey flights to Suva,” the Minister said, “and, of course, there will also be a number of survey flights from Sydney to Auckland.”
The Suva flight would not only provide information about the route itself, but enable valuable data to be obtained concerning the landing of fly-ing-boats at Suva.
