H.B. COLTS TEAM WAIROA' NOMINATIONS KNObK-OUT COMPETITION (Special to the Herald.) WAIROA, this day. A letter requesting nominations from Wairoa with a view to inclusion in the touring Hawke’s Bay colts team, was received from the Hawke's Bay Rugby Union at a meeting of the management committee of the Wairoa County Rugby Sub-Union, and it was decided to nominate one back and three towards. —W. Powdrell, back, ORouike, Manuel and J. Brownlie, forwards. Permission was granted the Nuhaka and Y.M.P. senior teams to play a fixture in Nuhaka later in the season in aid of the club s funds. The chairman, the Rev. C. E. Hyde, the treasurer, Mr. 11. S. Nightingale, and Mr. F. Ollivier, were appointed the sub-union’s delegates to meet the managers of the various teams compoting in the Ross Shield competition, for the purpose of discussing' questions affecting the competition. Advice was received that the Athletic senior team, winners of the 1939 senior club competition in Wairoa, had forwarded a challenge to Hastings for the Hawke’s Bay Challenge Shield. It was decided to send the Wairoa representative team to Gisborne on Saturday, September IC. to play Poverty Bay in a return fixture. On the same dav the Poverty Bay Colts ■team will visit Wairoa to play the Wairoa colts. Knock-Out Competition The following is the draw for the first round of the senior and junior knock-out competition, on Saturday next: — Seniors—Athletic v. Waipapa, m Mohaka, 2.45 p.m.; Nuhaka v. Y.M.P. in Nuhaka, 2.45 p.m. Juniors—Athletic v. Waipapa in Mohaka. 1.30 p.m.; Nuhaka v. Y.M.P. in Nuhaka, 1.30 p.m.
