Beef values again jumped 2s per lGOlbs. for a short yarding at the Westfield stcck market yesterday, the rise being generalExtra choice ox beef made 42s per 1001 b., choice and prime 39s to 41s; secondary and plain 36s to 38s; prime cow and heifer, 37s to 395; boner and rough 29s to 335.

Extra heavy prime steers made from £l7 to £lB 17s Gd: heavy, £l6 io £l6 17s Gd: medium, £l4 5s to £ls 15s; light, £l3 to £l4 12s Gd; unfinished and rough, £9 to £l2 15s; extra heavy prime cows and heifers, £l2 to £l3 17s Gd; heavy, £ll 10s to £l2 15s; medium, £lO to £ll ss; light, £8 to £9 17s Gd; boner and rough, £4 to £7 15s.

Plain calves predominated in a smaller veal entry, prime quality making high prices. Runners made from £6 to £9 15s; heavy vealers, £5 17s to £7 10s; medium, £4 5s to £5 15s; light, £3 15s to £4 10s; small, £2 14s to £3 13s; smaller, £2 2s to £2 12s; bobby and rough, 8s to 40s.

Mutton values firmed in consequence of a short entry. Extra heavy prime wethers made from 37s to 40s Gd: heavy, 35s to 37s Gd; medium, 32s to 34s 9d; light, 24s to 31s Gd; unfinished 15s Gd to 22s Gd; extra heavy prime ewes, 30s Gd to 32s 9d: heavy, 24s to 31s; medium 19s to 26s Gd; light, 18s to 21s; smaller, 14s to 17s; unfinished. 2s Gd to 13s Gd.

Lambs were yarded in fuller numbers, values tending to firm. Prime made from 15s to 35s 6d; others, 7s Gd to 13s Gd.

A larger entry of pigs weakened the market which was not so bright as before. Baconers did better than pork. Choppers made from £2 16s to £4: heavy baconers, £4 4s to £4 11s; medium,'.£3 14s to £3 19s; light £3 8s to £3 11s; heavy porkers, £3 to £3 3s; medium £2 11s to £2 17s; light £2 Is to £2 9s; stores, 32s to 40s; slips, 25s to 31s; weaners, 14s to 245. Baconers averaged 6£d to Gjjd per lb. and porkers, 7id to 8d per lb.
