NORTHERN PRODUCE RATES GREENS CITE A PER Prices of green vegetables produced in the Pukekohe district have eased since last week, following warmer weather. Cauliflowers have fallen in price from 14s to 10s (id a chapman bag, and from IDs (id to 15s fid a sack. Cabbages are now 11s (id a chapman bag, and 17s a sack, as against 12s 9d and 18s (id respectively a week ago.
Root vegetables are on a par with last week’s prices, parsnips still selling at 9s 4d a sugar bag, swedes at 7s Gd, carrots at 12s, though one line of carrots is now down to 11s.
The last of (lie district's onions continue to go out at 22-s (id a ewt, and the last of the pumpkins at 225.
