Prune Experiments
Sir,—-It is very pleasing to see that New Zealand is experimenting with outside plants and fruit. There is too little of this class of work going on in this country, which can help itself to bo more independent of outside countries. First, there is need of a special climatology institution and a nursery for all classes of plants, seeds and trees. Acclimatised plants will grow more readily than the unacclimatised plants and with better results. Therefore, the people of this Dominion should, assist in getting these institutions going as soon as possible. Such institutions must inevitably come to the country, which is ideal for this class of work. O. B. Y. GREGORY.
