OBSCURED VISIBILITY

ECHO OF ACCIDENT REMOVAL OF TREES For the purpose of improving the visibility for motorists at the intersection of Fox end Clifford streets, one of the property-owners concerned is to be interviewed on tile matter of a tall tree on the corner. This action arose out of a letter from Messrs. Chrisp and Chrisp, who referred to the recent court case in which one of the council’s bus drivers was fined. “Their Worships remarked that the visibility at the corner is not good, the letter stated, “and that the Borough Council should take steps to see the owners about the trees on the corner, particularly the pepper and karaka trees, which obscure the view into Clifford street.”

The Mayor, Mr. D. W. Coleman, M.P., said that if there was a building on the corner it would still obscure the view, tout he was told that one of the trees and fences were dangerous. The borough engineer, Mr. E. R. ' r homas, and the toils mlanager, Mr. K G. Ball, were asked to interview the property-owner concerned.
