OBITUARY

MR. ARTHUR PITTAR DEATH IN AUCKLAND The death occurred in Auckland yesterday of Mr. Arthur Pittar, eldest son of Mr. ■ and: Mrs. Parke Pittar, of Whangarei, and formerly of Gisborne, and brother of Mr. Parke Pittar, jun., Gisborne. The late Mr. Pittar, who was a wellknown Gisborne sportsman, had spent practically all his life in this district, for some time owning a string of racehorses and for the past three or four years being manager of Arowhana station. He married Miss Helen Packe, who is left with two small sons to mourn their loss.

Mr. Pittar’s death occurred after an illness extending over the past three months. He was in a private hospital in Gisborne for two months before going to Auckland. The interment will take place in Auckland.
