POSITION OF CREDITS QUESTIONS FOR CABINET CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (IVr l*r.-ss AHMH<I<UI<X< WELLINGTON, this day. The serious position atfectmg the credit of New Zealand by reason of importers now being unable to meet their obligations' in respect of goods r.ow on the water or ordered under import licenses was discussed by the council of the Wellington. Chamber of Commerce last night. The council decided to place before the Associated .Chambers of Commerce three points with a view to their being put to the Government for answer. These points were: — (a) What provision is the Government making" for commitments overseas which cannot be cancelled? (b) What provision is the Government making for shipments on the water which could not be stopped because of lack of advice of the intention of the Reserve Bank in relation to these shipments? (c) What is the advantage to the trading community of the export credits granted to the Government by the English Government and when will ithe benefit of such export credits be available?
