“FINING” OF JUDGE
GRANDFATHER OF TWINS ROTARY. CLUB INTERLUDE The spectacle of a judge cf the Supreme Court being “fined” was witnessed at the Hamilton Rotary Club's luncheon, when Mr. Justice Blair paid a “penalty” of 10s for being the grandfather of twins. The club sergeant, Dr. H. Douglas, laid the information, and some discussion took place as to what Ihc penalty should be. His Honour said it was urual for a defendant to be given an opportunity of saying something in his defence, but he would dispense with that formality and pay up willingly.
The donation received will go to cheer the juvenile patients in the Waikato Hospital.
