TAXING DOG-RACING
CALCUTTA, July 4
The Bengal Legislative Assembly is to consider* n bill to impose a tax on dog-racing, thus legalising this form of sport in Bengal. Greyhound racing has become very popular in Calcutta, but there is also strong opposition on the ground that Indians have sufficient opportunities for gambling.
