N.Z. WOOL TRADE JULY SALES & SHIPMENTS LARGE INCREASE SHOWN That the winter wool sales now in progress will effect a considerablereduction in the carry-over shown at June 30, is apparent from the returns compiled by Dalgety and Company, Limited Offerings of wool during July totalled 8786 bales, of which 8233 bales were sold, compared with 5026 bales offered and 4633 bales sold during July, 1938. The estimated carry-over as at June 30, was 28,868 bales of greasy wool, 1592 bales of scoured wool, and 15,141 bales of slipe, a total of 45,601 bales. Shipments of wool from New Zealand during July totalled 30,245 bales, compared with 18,557 bales for July 1938, an increase of 11,688 bales, Of the wool shipped last month 11,697 bales were greasy and 18,548 bales of slipe.
