Falling into line with- every other part of the Empire the New Zealand branch of the Empire Parliamentary Association has formed' a foreign affairs group, with the Hon. W. E. Barnard, Speaker of the House of Representatives as chairman, the Hon. F. Waite, deputy-chairman, and Mr. R. McKeen, chairman of committees of the House of Representatives, as secretary. The group’s initial meeting was attended by 30 members of both Houses and an address was given by Professor William C. Johnstone, dean of the junior college and professor of political science at the George Washington University, on the Eastern situation. Professor Johnstone and his wife are returning to America, via New Zealand, after an extended tour of the Far East.
