HASTINGS.GISBORNE GAME TE A .MS A KNOUXCE D The Gisborne High School’s first fifteen will play its second inter-school game of the present season on Saturday, when the team will meet the Hastings High School representatives in an annual fixture. This game is not of such long standing as the annual GisborneNapier High School match, but nevertheless is regarded as an important match on the school programme. The following will represent the Gisborne High School: Backs, Haig, Stewart, Campbell, Edmondson, Kane, Whaanga. Torca, captain; forwards, McCliskie, Shaw, Brooks. McLernon, Sharp. Kelly. Burley and Torrie. The Hastings team is as follows: — Backs, A. McErlich, G. Natusch, R. Davidson. R. Magnussen, iR. Waikare, J. Simpsc.i, A. Dyer; forwards, I. Maaka, captain. D. Dickson, D. Drummond, A. Kennedy, F. Jamieson, W. Hill, :D. -Noonen and P. Galbraith. Emergencies: Backs. K, Richmond and D. Webb; forward, T. Stern. One week later Gisborne will meet the Sacred Heart College team from Auckland, this being the first occasion on which the teams have met. Sacred Heart are the champion secondary school team in Auckland and the performance of the Gisborne team against such redoubtable opposition will ,be v.-atched with keen interest.
Sacred Heart will field the following team: Full-back, R. Sorensen: threequarters. S. Gardiner, B. Faire and E. Peterson; five-eighths, J. Hale and T. Hcgan; half-back, J. Maxwell; front row forwards, D. Duggan, B. O’Donovan and J. Reidy; second row, J. Satherly, R. McKenzie, R. McKay and J. George; back row, P. Murphy. Emergencies: Forwards, C. Fahy and M. Flanagan; backs, R. Naughton and F. Curry.
