The meeting began before the men were to have begun work for the day, bu*. continued until 9.30 a.m. at which time the truckers decided that as they would not be paid for a full shift they would not begin work. The dispute between Ihe miners, which concerned the distribution of. skips in the mine, reached an acute position and it was decided to place the matter before a stop-work meeting. The truckers are paid 22s 6d a day, whereas the miners are paid according to the coal they get out.
