BEEF AT WESTPIELD PIG VALUES FIRM SHEEP HATES HOLD (I>r Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Smaller entries both of ox and cow beef improved in price at the Westfield fat stock wale yesterday. Competition was very keen. Extra choice ox beet realised 36s per 1001 b., choice and prime 33s to 355.; choice and prime cow and heifer beef 31s to 335, boner and rough 23s to 28s. Extra heavy prime steers made from £l4 to £IG. heavy £l2 10s to £l4 15s, medium £ll 10s to £l3 ss, light £lO 10s to £l2 2s Gd, unfinished £5 to £lO 2s Gd: extra heavy prime cows ar.d heifers £9 10s to £ll 7s Gd, heavy £3 5s to £lO 7s fid. medium £7 las to £sl, light £G to £8 7s (id. unfinished £4 10s to £7. Calves were yarded in full average numbers, prime quality being scarce. This section improved and all others .sold at late rates. Runners made from £3 to £9 ss, heavy vealers £5 to £0 lis, medium £4 to £4 lGs, light £3 8s to £3 15s, smaller £2 6s to £3 3s, small 18s to 445, bobby and rough 3s to 325. The rates for a less-than-average entry of pigs were fully Arm. Choppers made from £2 19s to £4 15s. heavy baconers £4 7s to £4 13s, medium £3 15s to £4, light £3 8s to £3 14s; heavy porkers £3 3s to £3 10s, medium £2 15s to £3. light £2 Gs to £2 12s; stores 25s to 40s, slips 28s to 30s. weaners 12s to 265. Baconers averaged ti'.d to 7d per .. .).. and porkers 8d to ?.';d per lb. Ewes did best of a full average sheep entry, wethers selling at firm late rates. Extra heavy prime wethers made 32s 3d to 34s 3d. heavy 30s Gd to 31s Dd, medium 27s to 29s 3d, light 26s 9d. unfinished IBs to 24s Gd. Lambs in average numbers sold at late quotes. Prime made from 15s tc 26s 3d, others 8s to 14s Gd.
