REP. BASKETBALL
PERSONNEL OF TEAM SATURDAY'S MATCHES •Muc'h interest has been aroused among basketball supporters in the visit to Gisborne on Saturday of three teams from outside centres. The visitors will include the Opotiki representative side, and of special interest will be the return match (between Opotiki and Poverty Bay B, to be played at 2 p.m. The home side is a good deal stronger than when it visited Opotiki on July 1 and it is expected that Saturday's game will produce a fine exhibition.
The Opotiki representative team has been announced as follows: Misses T. Parkinson, N. Hickey, M. Mulhern, M. Thornton, K. Mulhern (captain), M. Mason, J. Dup'ontet. J. Cochrane and K. Connor. The Poverty Bay colours will be carried by the team that visited Opotiki last month, the players being: Misses J. Martin, O. (Masemann, E. Stevens (captain), and D. Pilcher, goals; Misses S. Mohan, R. Krebs, J. Carnegie and B. Parker, centres; Misses P. Wise, J. Scott, S. Munro and J. Stevenson, defence. ;.-,A'.sec ! ond-Opotiki team, from the Old Girls club, will meet Marathon, Gisborne, on Saturday afternoon, the visiting team to comprise: Mrs. Black, Misses P. Joblin, S. Powell, L. Ba'ird, T. Thompson, C. Barber, J. McGregor, A. 'Scott and E. Debreceny. The Napier team, Harris Basketball Club, to meet Mangapapa B on Saturday, has been announced as follows: — Misses Mavis Hill, Elsie Wells, captain, Thelma Hill, Betty Stuart, Phylipa Woods, Margare'tte Brewton, Dina Fluty, Audrey Forster, Rita Winkley and Joyce Barber. The visiting girls will be entertained at a dance to be held in the Selvyn Hall on Saturday night.
