MINISTER'S SUGGESTION DECISION OF CONFERENCE (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. In reviewing the fruit year at the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation conference, the Minister of Agriculture. the Hon. W. Lee Martin, said that the storm and tfrost condition.-; were 'beyond the control of the Government, and he suggested it might be possible to devise some insurance scheme to meet such positions. He gave the conference an assurance that the Government would give the earliest possible consideration to the report of the committee receiving evidence and considering proposals to provide a satisfactory answer to the industry's request 'for a Government marketing scheme, and would do everything possible to put into operation any reasonable and sound proposals. Th e conference appointed a deputation to interview the acting Minister Qif Finance to urge that the Government consider placing all primary producers' foodstuffs on the same basis as fishermen in regard to the petrol tax rebate, awd also to interview the appropriate Ministers on other matters such as the question of the aibolition of heavy traffic fees on orchardist lorries.
